What’s Happening?
FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway saw Tyler Reddick grab his first win since Talladega this Spring, alongside some crazy wreck. What did Eric Estepp think about it in this week’s Groovy Gauge Presented by Lectric eBikes?
Groovy Gauge Score: 75%
- Eric thought this was a decent race with many exciting moments, including Larson wrecking out and Denny Hamlin spinning himself. Corey Lajoie’s accident caught everyone off guard, as a Next-Gen car has yet to blow over that quickly.
- The mixture of in-race strategy, be that pit or fuel strategy, combined with the difficulty of passing, made for an exciting race. While drivers could still pass, it took a lot of wheelwork.
- NASCAR’s iffy late-race caution, while it didn’t affect the winner, affected the rest of the scoring pylon. Late in the season, these cautions can astronomically affect the Playoff cut-line.
Thanks again to Lectric eBikes, who will continue sponsoring the Groovy Gauge throughout the season. Stay tuned for the Daytona Groovy Gauge after Saturday’s race!
