What’s Happening?

The Bristol night race lacked the tire wear and drama of the track’s spring race. What did Eric Estepp think about it in this week’s Groovy Gauge Presented by Lectric eBikes?

Groovy Gauge Score: 35%

  • As has been the trend with short tracks over the last two seasons, it’s hard to be rude to Bristol. But Eric, along with most fans and insiders, believes this weekend was a major letdown.
  • Though it’s not BMS’s fault, it’s the car, the tire, or maybe the weather. BMS should and can be a better race. We’ve seen snoozers there before, and we will again, but in between, there are classic races.
  • While this race failed to reach its high expectations from the spring, it’s 35% rating is not the worst of the year. It falls just 10% short of the Spring race at Richmond, which scored 25%.

Thanks again to Lectric eBikes, who will continue sponsoring the Groovy Gauge throughout the season. Stay tuned for the Kansas Groovy Gauge after Sunday’s race!
