Watkins Glen spelled disaster for almost the entire Playoff field. What did Eric Estepp think about it in this week’s Groovy Gauge Presented by Lectric eBikes?

Groovy Gauge Score: 80%

• Goodyear’s softer tire they brought to the Glen was supposed to be the story of this weekend. However, the tire didn’t factor into the race as much as many thought it would.
• While the Next-Gen car is fast, it is too good on road courses, making many nostalgic for the old cars that didn’t race as well. Eric feels that the race needed more passing, more tire strategy, and less stage racing strategy.
• The race benefits from its great finish, with Chris Buescher showing his road course racing skills and passing Shane Van Gisbergen. Buescher’s deserving victory only adds to the final rating of this race.
