Iowa Groovy Gauge Presented by Lectric eBikes

What’s Happening?

Iowa Speedway hosted its’ first-ever Cup Series race on Sunday evening. Expectations were uncertain after a strange repave combined with the questionable Next-Gen short track package. Eric Estepp gives his verdict on how good the race was on the most recent Groovy Gauge segment presented by Lectric eBikes.

Groove Gauge Score: 80%

• Eric believes the atmosphere and spectacle were great. Iowa fans showed up, and the race looked awesome on TV from that perspective. The race itself was solid too.
• What made Iowa work despite being a repaved short track? The multiple grooves played to the Next-Gen’s strengths, intermediate track racing.
• Eric does have one suggestion for the next race at Iowa. Keep the race in the daytime to allow tires to wear out more and make the track more slippery.
