No. 18 Starkey/SoundGear Toyota Camry News and Notes:

  • SAWALICH AT IOWA: William Sawalich has one ARCA Menards Series (AMS) start at Iowa Speedway. The driver of the No. 18 earned the pole and led 154 of 156 laps of the race. A caution came out late in the race, forcing a restart. Sawalich finished second in the race.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Sawalich raced in last weekend’s ARCA Menards Series West race at Sonoma Raceway for his second career start at the road course. The No. 18 started second, but gained the lead on lap five. Sawalich led the next 20 laps before losing the lead after getting off course. Sawalich suffered damage on a later restart, but salvaged a fourth-place finish.
  • 2023 ARCA EAST CHAMPION: Sawalich claimed the 2023 ARCA Menards Series East (AMSE) championship at Bristol Motor Speedway. He ended the AMSE season with four wins and finished in the top-five in all eight races on the AMSE schedule. He became the second AMSE champion for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and the first Minnesotan to win the series championship.
  • JGR AT IOWA: JGR has seven AMS starts at Iowa with two wins, two poles, four top-five finishes, and 453 laps led. Current JGR Cup Series driver, Ty Gibbs won both races and one pole of the team while Sawalich won the second pole during last year’s event.
