Groovy Hollow is an annual iRacing fundraiser event created by Out of the Groove and A.E. Engine to raise money for Victory Junction.
We are less than a week away from the fifth annual Groovy Hollow iRacing event. Last year saw one of the most competitive fields of drivers tackle Groovy Hollow, but if you missed out, what all happened?
Groovy Hollow is an annual iRacing Charity race hosted by YouTuber Eric Estepp of the Out of the Groove YouTube channel. During last year’s event, Estepp stepped out of the role of host and into the driver’s seat, piloting the No. 4 Halloween Machine.
While the action took place on October 29, there were pre-race festivities throughout the weeks leading up to the drop of the green flag. This included The Grooviest Paint Scheme Contest, with fans voting that Thad Moffit’s Tastyduck.com No. 46 take home the honors of best in show.
On race day, Aaron Smith II’s Toyota Supra sat on the pole, though his lead would not last long, as Larry Pace would take the lead just three laps in. Pace wouldn’t look back, leading the majority of the race en route to his first Groovy Hollow win.
Other notable finishers included NASCAR regulars like Ryan Vargas in fifth, Brennan Poole in sixth, Lawless Alan in seventh, and Thad Moffitt in 20th. Of course, the star of the night, Estepp, would finish 21st in his competitive iRacing debut.
This year, Groovy Hollow will air live on October 28 at 7:30 PM EST on the Out of the Groove YouTube channel, so make sure to come by and hang out. Not only is the event a good time, but it’s also for a good cause.
Every year since 2021, the event has also served as a fundraiser for various great causes, and this year is no exception, as Groovy Hollow 5 will raise money for Victory Junction, a camp for children living with complex medical and physical needs.
