What’s Happening?
Ahead of this weekend’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado, a local bar is welcoming race fans in for a special pre-race party.
This weekend, the NASCAR National Series breaks new ground as the sport rolls back into Southern California for the first-ever race on the streets of San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado.
The race itself is already sold out, with the base and city ready for the stars of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and Cup Series to roll through town.
This excitement has spread to the track, where several local companies, including The Local Pacific Beach, Backyard Banger, PNKYS, First National Bullion, Boutique Recruiting, and Boutique Recruiting’s EZ Temps, have joined forces to sponsor Lavar Scott in this weekend’s OAP Series race.
While the race may be a little way away from the beach, The Local Pacific Beach is welcoming fans to head to their location near the shores of Pacific Beach for a race day pre-party on Friday, June 19, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM PT.

Ahead of the pre-party, The Local’s Kyle McClure joined Out of the Groove’s Eric Estepp to talk about the party, saying that the event “is right up our alley.”
The event, which will take place at their 809 Thomas Ave location, is open to guests of all ages and offers driver meet-and-greets, photo ops with a show-car version of Scott’s No. 45, and even a few giveaways.
