What’s Happening?

We are less than a week away from the fifth annual Groovy Hollow sim race, though it has built a legacy of its own. To some, Groovy Hollow is still new, so what’s it all about?

NASCAR YouTuber Eric Estepp of the Out of the Groove YouTube Channel hosted the first Groovy Hollow iRacing event in 2021.

For many in the online NASCAR community, the event has become an annual tradition, renowned for its lore and Halloween-themed atmosphere.

While the races have had their fair share of storytelling, including mystery drivers and tracks, its history stretched off the track in 2024. As part of Groovy Hollow 4, the first Groovy Hollow book, The Legend of Groovy Hollow, was released, adding to the lore of the iRacing extravoganza.

Although the race has its own story leading up to the event, the on-track competition at Groovy Hollow has also made a name for itself. Since its inception in 2021, Groovy Hollow has established a reputation for fielding one of the most competitive lineups in the sim racing scene.

With drivers like Anthony Alfredo, Parker Retzlaff, and 2025 NASCAR Cup Series playoff qualifier Josh Berry all taking the track to compete against top-tier racers from the world of sim racing.

Although in the grand scheme, the races and festivals are part of a bigger picture, one that provides fans and drivers with a united goal.

Every year since Groovy Hollow 1, the event has also served as a donation driver for several great causes. And this year is no different, as Groovy Hollow is teaming up to raise money for a great cause with ties to the NASCAR community.

Groovy Hollow 5 will help raise money for Victory Junction, a camp for kids living with complex medical and physical needs, where they can experience the camp experience regardless of their needs, based in the heart of NASCAR country in Randleman, North Carolina.

The camp was founded in memory of NASCAR’s first-ever fourth-generation driver, Adam Petty, with his family seeing out his vision for Victory Junction following his tragic passing at New Hampshire Speedway in 2000.

Much like Groovy Hollow, Victory Junction provides an opportunity for anyone to have a good time for all the right reasons.

If you are interested in competing in Groovy Hollow 5, make sure to fill out the entry form on the Groovy Hollow landing page here on The Daily Downforce, or find Groovy Hollow under the Projects tab above.

But, if you want to kick back and have a good time for a good cause, make sure to watch live on the Out of the Groove YouTube channel on October 28 at 7:30 PM EST.
