Spencer Boyd Launches New Truck Series Team

Spencer Boyd and Chris Miller announced on Monday that they are forming a new Truck Series team, Freedom Racing Enterprises, with Boyd as the full-time driver. According to the release former NASCAR on Fox analyst and Cup Series Champion crew chief, Jeff Hammond, will serve as the team’s general manager with Greg Ely as the crew chief and Rick Bourgeois as the car chief.

  • Freedom Racing Enterprises is the second new Truck Series team added this offseason, in addition to Faction46, which was announced in December. According to Bob Pockrass, the team bought their trucks from the now-defunct GMS Racing.
  • Boyd joins the team from Young’s Motorsports where he won a race at Talladega in the fall of 2019. He competed full-time for the team in 2023, and 2024 will be his 5th attempt at a full-time season.
  • Fans are curious to see how this race team does in 2024. It is a new team, which is always exciting to fans.
