What’s Happening?
Erik Jones’ return will have to wait one more week. Bob Pockrass reports that Legacy Motor Club will once again bring in Corey Heim to drive the No. 43 car “Out of an abundance of caution” despite Jones being cleared by doctors. Jones will return to the car next weekend at Darlington Raceway for Throwback Weekend.
Erik Jones cleared today to race by doctors, but Legacy Motor Club has opted to keep Jones out for Kansas out of an abundance of caution. Corey Heim will drive the No. 43 at Kansas (Jones will attend) and then Jones will be back in the car at Darlington — one of his best tracks.

- Erik Jones injured his back in a hard crash at Talladega Superspeedway in April. Darlington will be his second consecutive race missed due to the injury. He put out his own statement on social media saying he “Agrees” with the decision, and he will be at Kansas this weekend.
- Corey Heim steps in for the second consecutive race. He finished 25th last weekend at Dover, and he will also compete in the Craftsman Truck Series race on Saturday.
- Fans are excited to see that Jones will return at Darlington. They are also looking forward to seeing Heim race once again at Kansas, albeit under strange circumstances.
I agree with @LEGACYMotorClub's decision to ensure proper rest before I get back in the car. I will be in Kansas this weekend to continue to support the No. 43 team and @CoreyHeim_ and I look forward to being back behind the wheel at Darlington. https://t.co/9VWC3QQx6b
