The Race That Sealed Joey Logano’s 2015 Fate

The Iceberg

Jaret’s takes on the motorsports world don’t get much hotter, check out his daily uploads!

One of my favorite things about being a NASCAR fan is that it can be the most mundane uneventful season, and then one race happens that you will remember for the rest of your life. Sometimes that can save the perception of an entire season. That’s what happened in 2015 and now The Iceberg is here to remind us all of the race that sealed Joey Logano’s fate

  • When Joey Logano switched from the Joe Gibbs 20 to the Penske 22 his career hit a new stratosphere. While doing that he also hit a lot of drivers and caused a significant amount of rivalries in a very short time. Do you think Joey Logano would have more championships if he had fewer rivalries?
  • In an era where aero-blocking wasn’t as known nor utilized, Matt Keneth used it to his advantage to stay out in front of Joey Logano.  Until Logano got to his bumper and spun him the first chance he could. Do you think we’ll see more incidents like this since aero-blocking is more commonplace in NASCAR?
  • After the Kansas race when Keneth decided to stop Joey Logano’s championship run at Martinsville he was suspended for two races, but they use that clip every time we go back to Martinsville. So clearly it wasn’t bad for the sport If it was something used heavily in marketing. Should NASCAR still penalize drivers even if they’re going to use their infraction to sell tickets?

How well do you remember 2015 Kansas?  Do you think my Kenseth should’ve been suspended? If you saw a fire coming from the campground would you leave the race to check on your camper? Let The Iceberg know all of your thoughts and questions in the comments.
