Bristol Motor Speedway officials on Thursday proudly announced Clemmie Greenlee as the 2024 recipient of the BMS Neighborhood Hero award for Nashville. Greenlee, a lifelong advocate for underserved communities and a tireless champion against human trafficking and violence, will be honored for her dedication to improving the lives of countless individuals across Middle Tennessee.

“In honoring Clemmie Greenlee, we are recognizing someone who truly embodies the spirit of a Bristol Motor Speedway Neighborhood Hero,” said Jerry Caldwell, president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. “Clemmie has faced overwhelming challenges in her life, but rather than let them define her, she has used her experience and her voice to uplift her community. Her work with Nashville Peacemakers has positively impacted so many people, particularly at-risk youth and survivors of human trafficking. Clemmie’s passion for making her community a safer, better place is nothing short of extraordinary.”

Greenlee will be officially recognized during pre-race ceremonies for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, a Round of 16 Playoff race in the NASCAR Cup Series, on Sept. 21. One of the crown jewels of the NASCAR season, the race will take place under the lights at iconic Bristol Motor Speedway.

“We are beyond proud to celebrate Clemmie’s contributions at America’s Night Race,” added Caldwell. “Her story is one of resilience, strength, and compassion, and we are privileged to honor her as a Neighborhood Hero. The work she continues to do is inspiring, and she serves as a shining example of the power of community service.”

Greenlee’s inspiring journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to transforming her community. A survivor of addiction, trafficking and years of personal adversity, she has turned her experiences into a powerful force for change. Greenlee founded Nashville Peacemakers, an organization focused on gang intervention, providing resources for at-risk youth and supporting women escaping human trafficking. Through her advocacy, Greenlee has become a beacon of hope for those in need, devoting her life to ensuring that others have the opportunity for a better future.

Greenlee’s outreach through Nashville Peacemakers addresses the root causes of violence and provides individuals with the tools and support necessary to change their lives. Her work has been recognized by numerous organizations, and now she joins the ranks of the Bristol Motor Speedway Neighborhood Heroes. Established in 2018, Bristol’s program recognizes individuals, groups, and organizations who have gone above and beyond in their service, actions and performances to better their communities. Past honorees have included first responders, military personnel, educators, athletes, healthcare workers and other community leaders who have made a lasting impact on the state of Tennessee.
