What’s Happening?

NASCAR Silly Season is in full swing, with drivers on contract seasons already signing and re-signing with teams for the new season. With a number of drivers expected to be on the move, here’s a look at who is known to be on a contract year in 2026 and who has already signed on for 2027.

Known Contract Year Drivers

  • Alex Bowman – Hendrick Motorsports – No. 48
  • Austin Cindric – Team Penske – No. 2

Carson Hocevar – Spire Motorsports – No. 77

Resigned: February 5

Length: “Into the next decade.”

Carson Hocevar came to Spire in 2024 after a promising showing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, skipping full-time work in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series entirely. This paid off, with Hocevar taking the team to new heights and winning the 2024 Rookie of the Year. The team rewarded Hocevar prior to the start of 2026 with a new deal that will keep him at the team into the 2030s.

Kyle Larson – Hendrick Motorsports – No. 5

Resigned: February 11

Length: Through 2031

Kyle Larson signed with HMS ahead of the 2021 season and signed an extension through 2026 just a few seasons later. To the surprise of a few, he and his Crew Chief, Cliff Daniels, have secured their spot at HMS for the long haul, signing through the 2031 season in February at Daytona International Speedway.

Tyler Reddick – 23XI Racing – No. 45

Resigned: April 26

Length: Denny Hamlin says a “very long time.”

Tyler Reddick came to 23XI abruptly after signing with the team for the 2024 season, though he was released from his Richard Childress Racing contract after the 2022 season. This deal’s length was unknown, but at the start of the year, reports indicated Reddick was a free agent.

Some debated whether or not Tyler Reddick’s future was in doubt entering 2026 after a winless 2025. But, despite these unlikely predictions, a five-win campaign resulted in a long-term extension with 23XI that secures him as their cornerstone driver well into the future.

This list will be updated as the 2026 season continues.
