What’s Happening?
23XI Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin implied that Tyler Reddick will be with the team for the long haul during the latest episode of his podcast.
This past weekend, one of the first major storylines of 2027 NASCAR Silly Season came to an end when 23XI Racing re-signed Tyler Reddick after his incredible start to the 2026 season.
Reddick initially signed a long-term deal with the team at the conclusion of 2022, leaving RCR early to take over the No. 45 for a recently injured Kurt Busch starting in 2023.
This year, however, was the final year of that contract, a surprise to some.
Throughout the season, and in recent weeks, Hamlin indicated that a deal was close to being done, with other rumors suggesting that Reddick could be in for a major payday. While details of the contract are not public, we now have a clue to the length of his deal.
During the latest episode of his podcast, Actions Detrimental, Hamlin said that he is happy to get this deal done, noting that Reddick will be with the team for a “very long time.”
“Happy to get that done. He’s [going to] be here for a very long time, and I said for a long time he deserves everything he gets. He’s performing at a very, very high level; he’s got a 100-point lead in the Cup series. He’s just kicking ass, and we’re very happy that he’s going to be in that No. 45 for some time.” — Denny Hamlin
Hamlin did not say how much the extension gave Reddick, but indicated that the driver was well taken care of, adding, “He’s buying dinners, I can assure you that.”

One Down, One to Go
While 23XI has Reddick taken care of, the eyes of the 2027 NASCAR Silly Season are not off the team just yet.
Bubba Wallace signed an extension with the team in late 2024. Still, second-year driver Riley Herbst, while not confirmed to be on a contract season, is a major question mark for the team.
Though Herbst has improved from his rookie year, something that John Newby of FanBuzz reported Toyota took notice of this past weekend, the problem with Corey Heim is still front and center.
Heim, the reigning NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion, has yet to make any set plans for 2026, all while racing part-time for TRICON Garage in Trucks and 23XI in Cup.
Most fans feel that Heim is overdue for a spot in the Cup Series, and given rules around charter ownership, if 23XI finally called up their top prospect, they would have to move on from a driver.
