Located in the famed Opry Mills shopping center, the store will feature both NASCAR diecasts and model trains.

What’s Happening?

Lionel revealed today that they will be opening a brand new store at Opry Mills in Nashville, Tennessee. The store will open on September 1st with a grand opening scheduled for October.

Aside from its model trains, the store will also have a section dedicated to their NASCAR Die-Casts according to the release. Lionel Chief Executive Officer Howard Hitchock discussed how important the Nashville location was for their NASCAR demographic.

“Nashville in recent years has emerged as a racing city, from its open wheel events to the return of the NASCAR Cup Series at Nashville Speedway. Similar to our headquarters in Concord, North Carolina with its close proximity to race team shops and sanctioned events, this location will put us in the heart of the racing resurgence in Tennessee.”

Lionel Racing also has some new releases available for pre-order including the Chris Buescher race-win die-cast from Michigan this past weekend. They also released a Sam Mayer “Tim McGraw Standing Room Only” car that will run at Daytona later this month.
