JD Motorsports announced Kyle Weatherman will drive at Nashville this weekend, and he may run the rest of the season with the team.

What’s Happening?

Kyle Weatherman will run in the Xfinity Series this weekend for JD Motorsports at Nashville Superspeedway, JD Motorsports announced on Wednesday. He replaces Garrett Smithley, and JD Motorsports called Weatherman a “Possibility” to finish out the season with the team.

You Need to Know:

  • Weatherman has made 92 career Xfinity Series starts with a best finish of eighth happening three times. He has competed part-time in the series this season running in eight races for various teams. He also is a one-time winner in the ARCA Menards Series in 2015.
  • Johnny Davis has run an Xfinity Series team since the early days of the series in 1983. Notable drivers for him throughout the years include Cup Series race winners Ross Chastain, Morgan Shepherd, James Hylton, and Greg Sacks.
  • Fans are excited about this move. They feel Kyle Weatherman has a lot of potential, and he can be successful in this ride.
