Focused Health 250 at Circuit of the Americas

No. 20 Dial Toyota GR Supra News and Notes

  • NEMECHEK AT COTA: John Hunter Nemechek started sixth and finished 27th in his only NASCAR Xfinity Series start at Circuit of the Americas. He was in position for a solid top-10 finish before contact from another car late in the race forced him to make an unscheduled pit stop. Nemechek has made two starts at the track in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series with a best finish of second in 2022. The North Carolina native started and finished inside the top 12 in both of his Truck Series starts.
  • PHOENIX RECAP: Nemechek finished 32nd in the most recent Xfinity Series race at Phoenix Raceway. He started ninth and ran inside the top 10 during the first two stages. A quick pit stop vaulted him to the lead for a restart on lap 144. Unfortunately for Nemechek, he was caught in a multi-car accident on that restart and the resulting damage ended his race prematurely.
  • NEMECHEK’S XFINITY SERIES SCHEDULE: Nemechek is slated to compete in 10 total Xfinity Series races for Joe Gibbs Racing this season. After this weekend, he will race the No. 20 Toyota GR Supra at Sonoma Raceway (June 8), Iowa Speedway (June 15), Nashville Superspeedway (June 29), the Chicago Street Course (July 6), and Michigan International Speedway (August 17).
  • DIAL: Nemechek’s No. 20 Toyota GR Supra will feature Dial as the primary sponsor this weekend at Circuit of the Americas. The Dial brand is an American icon known for its powerful deep cleansing that is gentle on skin. The Dial brand continues to innovate with its product lines, including women’s body wash, men’s body wash, and kids’ body wash.
  • JGR AT COTA: Joe Gibbs Racing has posted one win, three top-five finishes, four top-10s, and two pole awards in 10 combined Xfinity Series starts at Circuit of the Americas. Last season, all three JGR entries qualified inside the top six and two drivers posted top-five finishes.
  • TUNE IN: Coverage of this weekend’s Xfinity Series race at Circuit of the Americas is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, at 5 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, PRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Why was it important for you to run the Xfinity race this weekend?

“Just laps. Yes, the cars and the shifting are different, but the more reps I can get and maximizing different areas on the track will help me in both races. That’s why you’ll see more other guys also running both races this weekend to get track time and hopefully be successful on Saturday and Sunday.
