JD Motorsports found an absolute relic in at their shop, and it couldn’t have come at a better time with the throwback weekend approaching at Darlington.
They would find one of the movie cars for Days of Thunder, a movie starring Tom Cruise that released in 1990. The car would sport a very retro Mellow Yellow paint scheme for driver Cole Trickle.
Days of Thunder was one of the first NASCAR centered movies, and told the story of up and coming driver Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) as he would attempt to get his start in the Cup Series.
It is one of a handful of essential movies for NASCAR fans to watch. Having one of the greatest actors of all time star as the lead role made it that much better!
If you have seen the movie, you will know just how cool this find is. They suggested they may do a series where they restore this beauty, and we are absolutely here for it.
