  • TRUEX AT DOVER: Ryan Truex returns to the site of his first career Xfinity Series victory this weekend as he heads to Dover Motor Speedway for the BetRivers 200. The momentous victory was a major milestone in Truex’s career and winning at his home track made the event all the more meaningful. Aside from the win, Dover has been Truex’s best track in his Xfinity Series career as he holds two top-fives, four top-10s, 167 laps led, and an average finish of 9.1.
  • TALLADEGA RECAP: Truex’s race in Talladega was cut short when he was involved in the lap 67 incident stemming from Brandon Jones’ spin at the front of the field. The damage ended Truex’s day early, leaving him to a 34th finish. Prior to the wreck, Truex ran well as he led a lap and collected stage points with a sixth place finish in stage one.
  • HOME COOKIN’: A native of Mayetta, New Jersey, Truex has long considered Dover his home track. The track has been good to him over the years as Dover is home to his only Xfinity Series victory, career-high laps led at any track (167), his only career pole, two top-fives, and four top-10s in his seven NXS starts at the track. With so much prior success and personal importance at the high-banked concrete oval, Truex looks to put together a strong run in front of his friends and family on Saturday.
  • A SPECIAL PLACE: Truex was crowned ARCA Menards Series East champion in 2009 and 2010 at Dover Motor Speedway, which were the first major accolades in his now 14-plus year NASCAR career. Now with last year’s victory under his belt, Dover has become synonymous with Truex’s career highlights. Along with Dover being the site of so many career-bests, his brother, Martin Truex Jr., also won his first NCS race at the track back in 2007 and holds four Cup Series victories there in total. With so many milestones and accomplishments taking place at Dover, the Monster Mile is not only Truex’s home track, but also home to some of his biggest moments.
  • UNSUNG HERO:  While drivers, crew chiefs, and even car numbers have changed, one constant in the Joe Gibbs Racing Xfinity Series program over the past four seasons is car chief Brian Gainey. Since the start of the 2021 season, Gainey’s teams have won a whopping 27 races in 106 starts. In 2021, Gainey served as the No. 54 team’s car chief for an 11-win season with multiple drivers including Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, Ty Gibbs, and John Hunter Nemechek. The next season, Gainey was once again the No. 54 team’s car chief for Gibbs’ seven-win Xfinity Series championship season. Last year, Gainey worked as the car chief for Nemechek’s seven-win season. This year, he is back with the No. 20 team that has earned a pair of wins with Nemechek and last week with Aric Almirola.
  • ON THE PITBOX: Rookie crew chief Tyler Allen is off to a strong start to his crew chief career as he has already scored two wins in two starts. Allen has been at JGR since 2015, most recently as the lead engineer on Christopher Bell’s No. 20, led by Adam Stevens, a position he has held since 2021. He also worked under Stevens as the lead engineer on the No. 18 from 2019-2020. In 2017, Allen made his move to the Cup Series on the No. 18 as a race engineer, a position he held for two years. His first position at JGR came in 2015 as he was hired to be the race engineer on the No. 54 NASCAR Xfinity Series car with Kyle Busch. Allen won the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series championship and 25 races across his seven years in JGR’s Cup shop, as well as 19 Xfinity races during his time in the series. Allen and Truex will work together for the first time this weekend in Texas.
  • JGR AT DOVER: Joe Gibbs Racing has 14 Xfinity Series victories at Dover Motor Speedway, including a win in last year’s race with Ryan Truex. In 115 combined starts, JGR has compiled 42 top-fives, 71 top-10s, 2955 laps led, and 12 poles. Along with Truex, Christopher Bell, Daniel Suarez, Erik Jones, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, and Denny Hamlin have all taken the checkered flag at Dover in Joe Gibbs Racing equipment.

Considering Dover is also a home track for me, I’m filled with nostalgia, excitement, and a ton of optimism towards what we can do on Saturday.
