NASCAR and Disney Pixar Reveal New Cars Movie Diecasts

What’s Happening?

On Monday, Adam Stern reported that NASCAR and Disney/Pixar are releasing new “Cars” themed merchandise. Characters involved include a new Lightning McQueen diecast alongside NASCAR driver-themed diecast characters, Bubba Wheelhouse (Bubba Wallace), Ryan ‘Inside’ Laney (Ryan Blaney), GoGoLogano (Joey Logano), William Byrev (William Byron), and Carstin Ace Dillon (Austin Dillon). The diecasts will also be sold alongside a playset and will be sold at Walmart.

• Disney-Pixar’s “Cars” franchise draws heavy inspiration from NASCAR. This includes multiple NASCAR individuals, including Darrell Waltrip, Richard, Linda, and Kyle Petty, “Humpy” Wheeler, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, and others having cameo appearances across the movie franchises.
• Of the NASCAR-themed characters included in this diecast line, only Bubba Wheelhouse and Ryan ‘Inside’ Laney were featured in the movie franchise. The other three are brand new, but no other movies are currently set for the franchise.
• Many NASCAR fans grew up watching the “Cars” movies. As a result, diecast lines like his appeal not just to kids but adult fans of the franchise as well.
