It has been a year of resurgence for the driver of the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. After disappointingly failing to win a race in the 2022 season, thus missing the playoffs in a year filled with parity, Martin Truex Jr. returned to victory lane a handful of times in 2023 and has been amongst the most consistent drivers during the regular season. With a Stage 1 win at Daytona and the Stage 2 points shaking out the way they did, NASCAR reported that Martin Truex Jr. has officially clinched the regular season championship!

Martin Truex Jr. has been among the most consistent drivers thus far in the 2023 season. With 3 wins, he is easily Joe Gibbs Racing’s top-performing team and one of the favorites to win the Championship this postseason.
Truex’s late-career success is huge for the driver who just signed a 1-year contract extension to return to the No. 19 car in 2024. After missing the playoffs entirely in 2022, Truex is back with a vengeance, as prepared to win the championship this year as he was when he captured his first crown back in 2017.
Truex has always been a fan favorite in NASCAR. Fans are thrilled to see him have this late-career success.

Martin Truex Jr. seems to be having a late-career resurgence in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. With 3 wins on the year, he is clearly one of the favorites to take his second NASCAR Cup Series title.

James Jr. is also glad to see this victory considering MTJ’s 2022 season. All in all, that season wasn’t all that bad…Truex just couldn’t find victory lane.
