It has been a year of resurgence for the driver of the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. After disappointingly failing to win a race in the 2022 season, thus missing the playoffs in a year filled with parity, Martin Truex Jr. returned to victory lane a handful of times in 2023 and has been amongst the most consistent drivers during the regular season. With a Stage 1 win at Daytona and the Stage 2 points shaking out the way they did, NASCAR reported that Martin Truex Jr. has officially clinched the regular season championship!

After missing the playoffs entirely in 2022, Truex is back with a vengeance, as prepared to win the championship this year as he was when he captured his first crown back in 2017.

James Jr. is also glad to see this victory considering MTJ’s 2022 season. All in all, that season wasn’t all that bad…Truex just couldn’t find victory lane.
