Stewart-Haas Racing has filed a notice with the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce regarding the closure of SHR at the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR season.
The closure notice and subsequent layoffs come only a few months after the announcement that SHR will close its doors at the conclusion of the 2024 NASCAR season. Since this announcement of closure, many speculations have been made about what would become of the employees and assets. Last month, it was announced that Gene Haas will retain one Cup charter and the Xfinity program. The new team will be branded as the Haas Factory Team.
The notice sent to the NC Chamber of Commerce included a list of the employees and their respective roles within SHR. Haas Factory Team plans to retain 90-100 of the current employees while the remaining will be laid off.
