The Season Finale at Phoenix Raceway is already one of the most controversial aspects of the 2025 NASCAR schedule. Many fans would love to see the finale return to Homestead-Miami Speedway. Reddit user PaulRingo64 claims that a ticket rep at Daytona International Speedway was asking about him potentially buying tickets for a Homestead finale in 2026. Will this actually happen?

• Homestead-Miami Speedway hosted the season finale from 2002 through 2019. At the time, the intermediate track racing product was not as entertaining as today, so fans were not as excited about Homestead being the final venue. Public sentiment has changed as the Next-Gen car has improved intermediate-track racing but has seen short-track racing decline.
• We already know that Homestead-Miami Speedway is pursuing the 2026 finale. Even the local government is getting involved in the movement.
• Fans would love to see Homestead be the finale once again. This provides some hope for what fans are looking for.

NASCAR has yet to announce the season finale venue for 2026, but 2025 will be the sixth consecutive year for the season finale at Phoenix. Phoenix has a lot going for it, including an impressive, modern facility, sellout crowds, ideal weather, and a good location near a large market. However, the racing product has been lackluster, making many think the finale venue should move. Despite the detractors, everything Phoenix offers keeps NASCAR going there for the finale.

Homestead is one of the few other tracks that could host the finale. Its location in South Florida means the weather is warm enough to host a race. However, Homestead has not been the finale since 2019.

Now, Homestead wants the finale back. Jordan Bianchi reported back in the spring that Homestead city officials passed a resolution aimed at a push to host the finale again in 2026. The local government wants the race back, and seeing what comes of that will be interesting.

However, this is still a long way off, and there probably won’t be much on this story for a while. At the earliest, NASCAR may announce a change during the Homestead weekend this October. Otherwise, this change may not be announced until 2025.

Homestead wants the finale back, and it’s certainly possible it could regain the finale. However, time will tell how everything works out.
