Every season NASCAR has a “State of the Sport Address” where NASCAR leadership like Steve Phelps and Steve O’Donnell talk about the main points of the current NASCAR season. Usually most fans just ignore it or look back at the quotes but this year is different after all of the controversy that NASCAR has been through with Playoffs, officiating, and everything else surrounding it. So today I wanted to look at this an be reacting to the 2024 NASCAR State of the Sport Address.
- Despite some fans’ criticisms, NASCAR’s Steve Phelps reaffirmed their support for the current playoff system. Do you think NASCAR should consider adjusting it, or do you agree with their choice to stay the course?
- With only a one-year extension confirmed, NASCAR’s future Xfinity Series sponsorship remains in question. Do you feel confident NASCAR will secure long-term sponsors, or is this short-term planning a red flag?
- NASCAR leadership mentioned goals of attracting up to five OEMs over the coming years. Do you believe they’re making real progress, or does this seem like another promise pushed down the road?
