What’s Happening?

iRacing Studios is adding a new track to NASCAR 25 at no added cost to customers, but there’s a catch that limits how players can use this track in-game.

In September, when iRacing dropped the list of race tracks in its new NASCAR console game, NASCAR 25, there were many notable venues left out of the game.

This list, at least for the three NASCAR National Series, included Bowman Gray Stadium, Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, and Portland International Raceway.

Though it seems AHR may not get its day in the sun in NASCAR 25, PIR is a different story, as iRacing Studios announced on Tuesday that the track will be added to the game for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

On launch day, the NASCAR Xfinity Series, as the only series that races at PIR, had Michigan, a track they did not race at in 2025, substituted in as a replacement, specifically to fill out the schedule in Career and Championship (season) mode.

Unfortunately, per the announcement from iRacing Studios, the PIR will only be available for use in Quick Race and Online, excluding the two long-format modes.

Despite this minor letdown, this update, slated to come out at some point in January, isn’t stopping at just adding PIR.

iRacing is also adding an updated render for Sonoma Raceway, based on the most recent retooling and track scan of Sonoma added to iRacing’s main subscription-based computer game, replacing the render used in the game that includes several advertisements from the mid-2000s.

Alongside these (technically) two new tracks, the game is also expanding paint booth options for players’ online custom cars, something that the developers teased was on the way around the game’s launch.
