What’s Happening?
Several content creators have revealed what they learned about iRacing’s upcoming NASCAR Console game, NASCAR ’25, during a sit-down with iRacing representatives, including a first look at the game’s damage model.
On October 14, NASCAR ’25 will be the first multi-platform NASCAR console game released since 2021. Until then, race fans and NASCAR fans are clamoring for any tidbit of information they can get their hands on about the upcoming game.
Last week, iRacing revealed the first look at in-game racing and race weekends. Nonetheless, the gaming community is keeping the ball rolling with several creators revealing what they learned during a recent live Discord chat with iRacing representatives featuring a gameplay preview and Q&A.
Damage
Alongside first looks at North Wilkesboro Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, and Lime Rock Park (and the ARCA Menards Series as a whole), these creators also gave a look at damage happening in game.
This footage can be seen in a YouTube upload from TraxionGG. At around the 6:00 mark in the video, the generic iRacing car is bumped in the rear, creating a dent in the car’s rear bumper.
Though this footage is from a work-in-progress build of the game, the damage looks similar to the very basic damage that was present in recent NASCAR console games. As mentioned by John Munro of TraxionGG, the actual damage looked a little unnatural, with the rear bumper snapping into place shortly after being hit.
Interestingly enough, there was very little damage to cars (or crashing) in a ‘big one’ that happened in an upload of the footage from Michael Mrucz. With this footage, Mrucz noted that you can adjust damage in increments, though it will be interesting to see this on the release date.
Cautions, In-Game Setups, and Settings
Sticking with cautions, both noted that under caution, players will not see a replay of the caution. Furthermore, pit stops under caution will not be shown, as the screen cuts to black and then back to the restart, though both said that there will be a pit stop cut scene for green flag pit stops.
In-car setups will also utilize a similar format to recent games, with a basic loose-to-tight gauge being used and no options for an in-depth setup.

Though this is apparently not the be-all and end-all of setting up your car, as in his video, Mrucz states that in the setting, players will “be able to adjust how the car reacts to the inputs you give it, how the car feels in your hands.”

Nonetheless, the lack of in-depth setups will more than likely cause pushback from the fanbase.
A look at the game’s settings also reveals that you will be able to customize your race length, adjust fuel and tire wear for your selected race length, and choose how many stages you want in a race. Users will also have options like Wall Avoidance to adjust game difficulty accordingly.
Gameplay
Aside from the in-game features and settings, most agree that the game looks better than most past NASCAR console releases.
One question that still remains about the game is whether or not all consoles will have 60 fps. In their upload, TraxionGG notes that the game will run at 60 FPS on consoles, though they also claim that they did not get confirmation if this is fixed or if it will run at that level on consoles like the less powerful Xbox Series S.
Once again, these creators emphasized that NASCAR ’25 is a digital-only release, something that was confirmed last week to the dismay of some in the NASCAR community.
NASCAR ’25 is set to release on October 14 for PS5 and XBOX Series X/S, with a PC release via Steam set for November 11. For any and all information, including timelines, promotional videos, and in-game info, make sure to check out our in-depth article on NASCAR ’25 below.
