NASCAR’s next console game, NASCAR ’25, is currently being developed by iRacing. Fans have long waited for the release of this NASCAR game but will have to wait till this fall to do so. So, what does the road map to NASCAR ’25’s release look like?
iRacing has yet to announce a formal release date for the game, but they are slowly releasing information. Other game releases can tell us several factors about the path to NASCAR ’25’s release.
For example, many major developers follow the same formula of getting to a game’s release date. This formula starts with very little information, such as in-game captures, early developmental renders, or teasers. Then, the developer will typically move on to setting dates and promoting the game’s release.

The team at iRacing has already completed the easy part of the process. In October 2023, NASCAR announced on X that iRacing had purchased the rights to make NASCAR console games from Motorsport Games.
The next stage was early planning. iRacing told fans early on that they plan on a Fall 2025 release date, that Monster Games, which iRacing owns, will be the developer, that NASCAR ’25 will be developed on Unreal Engine, and that it will use assets from iRacing’s main iRacing platform.
Since then, the team has released various teases about the game. Some of these teases have come on X from iRacing executive Steve Myers and iRacing and iRacing executive director Dale Earnhardt Jr. Their teases mostly regard how development is going and small details, such as Earnhardt asking for soundtrack suggestions from fans.
iRacing itself has released YouTube videos titled NASCAR ’25 Dev Diary. These give fans a look at the team making the game, very early wireframe renders, and completed renders of different in-game properties.
So, from where the game is now, what can we expect to be next?

The next phase for the game will be about giving the release date and promoting the game, its look, features, and gameplay. This phase includes releasing a feature trailer, usually more cinematic than mechanical, releasing a Gameplay trailer, setting a pre-order date, and, of course, a release date.
So, let’s look at the timeline for a recent popular sports game, EA Sports College Football 25. The lead-up to this game’s release was very similar to NASCAR 25, with small rumors, teases, and early renders released to the public.
The game’s first tease came on Feb. 2, 2021, and after delays, EA Sports released the game on July 19, 2024.
However, promotion for the game ramped up on Feb. 15, 2024, when EA released the game’s first teaser trailer. This teaser trailer came 154 days until release. From there, the timeline for release looked like this:
What iRacing will have to do between now and the release of NASCAR ’25 is similar yet different. Fans should expect the usual Teaser, Feature, and Gameplay trailers to be released.
However, rather than team reveals and Team Builder, iRacing may release a calendar for live services such as online head-to-head mode, online career, or a form of Team Builder mode. They’ve also yet to announce what drivers, game modes, and tracks will be included. What DLC will be available, and if that DLC comes with a season pass?
While it may seem like there is little information about NASCAR ’25, if CFB ’25 is an example, as we draw closer to the release date, the reveals will roll in faster and faster.
