Anthony Alfredo raised eyebrows on social media by tweeting out a pencil emoji. Many assumed that a return to B.J. McLeod Motorsports was in order, but, that is not the case. With Alfredo moving on to a different team in 2024, which team could he be going to?

Anthony Alfredo joins Our Motorsports for 2024 in the newly renumbered 5-car. He won his first career Xfinity Series pole with the team in 2022 at Portland. He recorded 1 top-5 and 5 top-10s with them as well.
Sam Hunt Racing fielded two cars this season with Kaz Grala running full-time and a combination of drivers taking the second car. With Alfredo searching for another ride, Sam Hunt Racing is pretty similar if not better equipment. However, SHR is a Toyota team, and Alfredo has been either a Chevrolet or a Ford driver. Would Toyota be willing to bring in Alfredo to drive for Sam Hunt Racing?
JD Motorsports is a Chevrolet team looking for a driver with Brennan Poole gone. JD Motorsports offers Alfredo the ability to stay with Chevrolet, who Alfredo has been fairly loyal to for a few years. Now, JD Motorsports could have someone else in mind for the ride, but it may make sense for Alfredo. If he wants to stay with Chevy, this may be his move.
What Hailie Deegan likely needs in a teammate is someone with experience, and Alfredo has experience at all levels of the sport. He knows what it is like to drive for a top team, a mid-pack team, and a back-of-the-pack team. On top of that, Alfredo has driven for Ford before, and Brett Moffitt’s 2024 plans are still uncertain. What likely matters most for this ride could be if Alfredo can be the type of teammate to Deegan that they need him to be, which Alfredo can likely do.
