Frankie Muniz was once again in the NASCAR news cycle this weekend. He was reported to have signed a deal for 2024, but then he and the race team came out and disputed that claim. This is everything we know about Frankie Muniz’s weekend at Phoenix?

We know, from the article posted above, that Frankie Muniz has had meetings with Ford executives about his 2024 plans prior to Phoenix, and Muniz said following the ARCA finale at Toledo that he knows his plans for 2024. We also know that there are plenty of Ford teams looking for drivers in the lower series including RSS Racing, ThorSport, and potentially AM Racing. We also know that he was in Phoenix this weekend, and Brock Beard found Muniz just outside of the RSS Racing haulers.
Now, finding him in that spot in the garage could be purely coincidental. However, the fact that he was at the track that weekend is worth noting. He was there, and he was likely there for a reason given his desire to race at the higher levels of NASCAR.
Michael Massie of Frontstretch reported on Saturday afternoon that Muniz would be signing with RSS Racing for 2024. The report also said an announcement would be “In the coming weeks”, and it did not specify part-time or full-time or sponsorship either. However, Muniz disputed the claim shortly thereafter saying simply, “News to me”.
RSS Racing also disputed the report on their own Twitter page as well. They reiterated that they had only signed Ryan Sieg to this point, and they were “Evaluating all options to help improve our team for next year and beyond”.
Well, that’s a definite denial that Muniz has signed with RSS Racing. However, neither side denied that the two may have had conversations. It’s entirely possible that the two have had discussions, and it is also possible that Muniz is a candidate to drive for RSS Racing.
However, Muniz also admitted that he knows his plans for 2024 in the video below. If RSS Racing is in those plans, then why would he deny a report saying that he is racing for RSS Racing in 2024?
At the end of the day, we still do not know Frankie Muniz’s 2024 plans. Has enough been said to take RSS Racing out of the running? Maybe there has and maybe there hasn’t, but Frankie Muniz will still be a driver to watch this offseason.
