What’s Happening?

Matt DiBenedetto’s 2024 racing schedule is set to expand. In a recent report by Dustin Albino of Jayski, Don Sackett of Viking Motorsports says that, while the full schedule has not been finalized yet, DiBenedetto, “Will be back for all the races.” The team is currently slated to enter Xfinity Series races at Darlington and Charlotte with hopes to enter road course races at Portland and Sonoma according to Albino.

  • Matt DiBenedetto joined Viking Motorsports this season after a wacky 2023 Silly Season. He was released from his contract with Truck Series team Rackley W.A.R. 3 races early in 2023, and he failed to secure a ride during the offseason.
  • Viking Motorsports came along in the spring after the team’s original driver, C.J. McLaughlin, failed to qualify for 2 of the first 4 races. Since DiBenedetto stepped in, he’s qualified for every race he’s entered and nabbed a top-10 finish at Talladega.
  • Fans are happy to see DiBenedetto back in NASCAR on a consistent basis. Many believe he has enough talent to be in NASCAR, and he continues to prove it by driving well with the opportunities he’s been given.
