What’s Happening?

Amber Balcaen’s injury from Dover will not keep her out of the car, at least for now. Amber Balcaen revealed on her Instagram page that she has been cleared to race this weekend despite an injury to her left foot in a hard crash with Christian Rose last weekend.

  • Amber Balcaen was injured in a crash during the General Tire 150 at Dover Motor Speedway last Friday. She headed to the infield care center on a stretcher and later spoke to the media outside of the care center with her leg wrapped.
  • Balcaen is in her first full-time ARCA Menards Series season with Venturini Motorsports. In 2016, she became the first woman to win a NASCAR-sanctioned race at Motor Mile Speedway in Virginia.
  • Fans are happy to see Balcaen will race this weekend, and they never want to see a driver sidelined by injury.

What Balcaen Had to Say

Balcaen talked with NASCAR on Fox reporter, Bob Pockrass about the injury. Balcaen mentioned to Pockrass how she will use her left foot only for the clutch, and she admitted that she is “Definitely not 100%”

The Incident

Balcaun was caught up in a crash with Christian Rose at Dover. She lost control trying to avoid the spinning Rose, hitting the inside wall hard. She showed significant discomfort when exiting the car.

She spoke with the media after being released from the infield care center. She expressed that she would do “Anything in my power” to race at Kansas, and she will indeed race at Kansas.
