What’s Happening?

In 2024, Kyle Busch ended a streak of 19 straight seasons with at least one win in the NASCAR Cup Series. This streak, as impressive as it was, came close to ending several times before. However, this year spelled the end of that legendary streak. So, what drivers are on a year-to-year streak of their own?

  • In order to qualify, a driver must win at least once in consecutive seasons.
  • This list will only include wins in points races, meaning that the Clash, Duels, and All-Star Race do not count towards these streaks.
  • We will update this year to year, and feature a running list of those able to begin a streak.

Driver Eligible to Start a Streak in 2025:
  • Alex Bowman
  • Austin Cindric
  • Austin Dillon
  • Brad Keselowski
  • Chase Briscoe
  • Chase Elliott
  • Daniel Suarez
  • Harrison Burton

2 Straight Seasons: Ryan Blaney and Rickey Stenhouse Jr.

Only two drivers are on a two-year streak of winning at least once at the Cup Series Level. Ryan Blaney, 2023 Cup Series Champion, began his streak with his 2023 win in the Coca-Cola 600 and continued this streak with a win at Iowa in 2024.

Blaney’s streak would be eight years; however, his 2022 season left him without a winner’s trophy. However, his streak could not have begun at a better time, leading to his first NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Rickey Stenhouse Jr started his short streak in high fashion by winning the 2023 Daytona 500. This season, however, Stenhouse looked like he would not back that win up. However, he won a crash-filled race at Talladga during the 2024 playoffs.

3 Straight Seasons: Chris Buescher, Ross Chastain, and Tyler Reddick

Chris Buescher, Ross Chastain, and Tyler Reddick are Cup Series winners in three straight seasons. Chastain and Reddick began these streaks on road courses, while Buescher started his at Bristol.

Ross Chastain began his streak at Circuit of the America’s in 2022. Battling with Reddick, Alex Bowman, and A.J. Allmendinger late into the race, Chastain drover hard for his first career win.

Fortunately, Reddick began his streak that summer at Road America.

Buescher was the last of the three drivers to begin his streak with a win at the Bristol Night Race.

All three drivers won in 2023, with Buescher winning at Richmond, Reddick continuing his streak at COTA, and Ross winning at Nashville Superspeedway. This season, Reddick won at Talladega; while Chastain and Buescher almost ended their streaks but won late in the season—Ross at Kansas Speedway and Buescher at Watkins Glen.

4 Straight Seasons: Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell

Two dirt track racers are on four-season winning streaks, both dating back to 2021. Bell won his first NASCAR Cup Series race at the Daytona Road Course in 2021 and continued his streak at New Hampshire in 2022, the Bristol Dirt Race in 2023, and Phoenix this spring.

Larson’s streak began with the first of ten wins in his championship season in 2021. He continued his streak with wins at Auto Club in 2022, the Richmond Spring Race in 2023, and Las Vegas in 2024.

Neither driver has risked their streak since they began. Both win have won early and often over the past four seasons.

5 Straight Seasons: William Byron

After two seasons of fans questioning whether or not William Byron was ready for the Cup Series, Byron began his season-to-season winning in walk-off fashion at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 in 2020.

Byron continued his streak into 2021, winning at Homestead early on and winning at Atlanta early on in 2022. 2023 was a breakthrough season for William, who won six tracks, beginning in Las Vegas. This year, Byron continued the streak with perhaps his most important win, the 2024 Daytona 500.

6 Straight Seasons: Denny Hamlin

Denny Hamlin’s six-season winning streak is impressive. However, it is shocking that this streak includes 23 wins but no championships.

Hamlin began his streak by winning the Daytona 500 in 2019 and continued it by winning the same race in 2020. Hamlin’s streak continued in 2021 with a win at Darlington, in 2022 at the Richmond Spring race, in 2023 with a win at Kansas, and this year at Bristol.

Denny flirted with ending this streak in 2021. However, that late-season win at Darlington continued this solid run. Hamlin’s streak would be in first place with 19 straight seasons. However, his winless 2018 ended those plans. That season, Hamlin finished second at Dover and Martinsville.

13 Straight Seasons: Joey Logano

Reigning NASCAR Cup Series Champion Joey Logano now holds Busch’s former record. Joey began this streak with his final win with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2012 at Pocono. With a follow-up win in 2013 in his first season with Team Penske, Logano would soon prove to be one of the most successful drivers of the 2010s.

Logano continued his streak throughout the 2010s by winning the following races:

  • Texas, 2014
  • Daytona 500, 2015
  • Michigan, 2016
  • Richmond, 2017
  • Talladega, 2018
  • Las Vegas, 2019
  • Las Vegas, 2020
  • Bristol Dirt Race, 2021
  • Darlington, 2022
  • Atlanta, 2023
  • Nashville, 2024

Miracualsy, Logano has not come close to losing this streak since his 2013 win at Michigan, which was the 23rd race of the year.
