The NASCAR playoffs were created to produce more entertainment in the NASCAR championship. Most years, they provide a thrilling result, but other times, the old system would have been way better. Today, The Daily Downforce looks back at the best and the worst of the NASCAR playoff battles.

  • In 2008, Jimmy Johnson and Chad Knaus had mastered the playoff system. Johnson won the championship even though, by the end of the chase, he was hardly trying. Do you think this is the worst NASCAR playoff battle?
  • In 2011, NASCAR fans saw something they had never seen before when Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards tied in points at the end of the season. Do you think this was the best NASCAR playoffs ever?
  • 2019 was a Kyle Busch championship year, so you would assume that it was filled with excitement. However, he did not collect a single win in the first three rounds and only won the final race. Do you think this is the worst playoff of the elimination era?

What do you think are the best and worst NASCAR playoff battles? What playoff system do you like the most? Let The Daily Downforce know all of your thoughts and questions in the standard section.
