The 2024 NASCAR schedule is very close to being released. It seems that another race date has been leaked to the general public, this one thanks to Ticketmaster.com as first noted by JPet27 on Twitter.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the West Coast Swing?
If you search Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Ticketmaster, you get a list of events. This includes three races during the first weekend of March including the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the NASCAR Cup Series.
This is not a departure from the 2023 schedule at all as the spring Las Vegas race was run on the first weekend of March in 2023 as well. So, this does not outright confirm, but it does show that Las Vegas appears to be running on the same weekend in 2024 as it did in 2023.
It does mean that the second race of the year is open the week after what should be the Daytona 500. Could that race potentially go to the replacement for Auto Club Speedway such as Sonoma? If Sonoma is the choice then it may not be the worst idea to bump Phoenix back up to the second race of the season to move Sonoma back into the month of March when the weather is a bit warmer.
However, Las Vegas is not the only race that has been leaked on the 2024 schedule. What other races have been leaked yet?
What Has Been Leaked So Far?
There are a few things that have already been announced about the 2024 schedule, but not every announcement has a date attached to it. First off, NASCAR and Bristol Motor Speedway announced over the weekend that Bristol Dirt will not return to the 2024 schedule. They did not announce a specific date for the spring race, but they did note that Bristol will have two race dates in 2024.
FOX also announced over the weekend that the Clash at the Coliseum will be returning on February 4 in 2024. However, the added twist will be the NASCAR Mexico Series being the preliminary event at the track during the race weekend.
The last thing that has been leaked is the first thing that NASCAR announced when it came to the 2024 schedule. As was expected, NASCAR will be returning to the Phoenix Raceway for the 2024 Season Finale. Fans were not particularly thrilled with this announcement, but, it does make business sense for NASCAR given the location and time of year.
With all of these leaks, most NASCAR conducted, but one not, one can only wonder how much longer it will be until the full schedule is released. At some point, everything will come out, but, it is interesting to see all of these leaks happening. Maybe they are a way of allowing these big events to sell tickets earlier, or it could be NASCAR trying to drum up some anticipation as the full schedule awaits to be released. Regardless, the 2024 schedule is slowly coming.
