- DAYTONA RECAP: In typical Daytona fashion, Creed had an up-and-down day under the lights of Daytona, but he showed up when it mattered. After starting seventh, Creed raced his way to a fourth-place finish in stage one and a seventh-place finish in stage two, thus securing a crucial 11 stage points on the day. After falling back in the lead pack during the third stage, Creed worked his way back up to an eighth-place finish, which secured his 14th top-10 on the year.
- TOP FIVE LEADER: With his second-place finish in Michigan, Creed is now the sole leader for top-five finishes in the Xfinity Series with 10. Creed also holds a four-race streak of top-tens dating back to his fifth-place finish in Pocono, which he extended with his 14th top-10 of the year in Daytona.
- STUCK ON SILVER: Creed’s second-place finish at Michigan marked his 11th career second-place finish in the Xfinity Series. The most recent runner-up performance placed Creed in sole possession of the NXS record for second-place finishes without a win. Sheldon Creed, Driver of the No. 18 Friends of Jaclyn Foundation Toyota GR Supra:
“You’ve said many times that Darlington is one of your favorite tracks. Why do you love it and what would it mean to get your first win here?”
“There’s no shortage of fun at Darlington. Every lap keeps you on your toes and it demands a lot out of a driver. I think it suits my background nicely. I do well with tracks that require constant reaction and that’s exactly what Darlington brings. As far as the win goes, it would mean a lot to get it anywhere. I would love for it to be here just a little more though since I enjoy this track so much and it would feel really cool to say that I conquered it.”
