2023 Daytona 500 winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is staying put for the next few years. He announced on Sirius XM NASCAR Radio on Thursday that he and race team JTG-Daugherty Racing signed a Multi-year contract extension to keep him in the No. 47 car. The deal comes amidst rumors about the uncertain future of JTG-Daugherty Racing’s ownership alongside its current sponsor, Kroger.

  • While the initial announcement only specified that it was a “Multi-year deal”, Candice Lee Spencer of Catchfence reported that the extension is 3 years. Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic reported that Stenhouse Jr.’s contract was set to expire at the end of 2024, so, this contract would keep Stenhouse with the team through 2027.
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr. joined JTG-Daugherty Racing in 2020, with his crowning achievement so far being his Daytona 500 win in 2023. The move comes amidst an Adam Stern report that team co-owner Tad Geshickter is considering leaving the team and taking Kroger’s sponsorship with him.
  • Gans are excited to see Stenhouse re-signed for the foreseeable future. It highlights that JTG-Daugherty is here to stay in some capacity for the foreseeable future.
