What’s Happening?

Rajah Caruth confirmed that he will compete full-time in the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season, splitting his duties between two teams, during a livestream on his Twitch Channel.

Tuesday morning, JR Motorsports announced that Craftsman Truck Series veteran Rajah Caruth, who currently drives the No. 71 truck for Spire Motorsports, will pilot the team’s No. 88 for a significant portion of the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season.

Despite the excitement surrounding the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Most Popular Driver Award winner’s promotion, this announcement led to some confusion among fans. In particular, most wondered if he could piece together a full-time season or if he would split his time between the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

During a recent Twitch stream, Caruth clarified his plans for the upcoming season, stating that he will not be driving the Spire Motorsports No. 71 truck and instead plans to compete full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with JRM and Jordan Anderson Racing.

“I’ll be full-time in O’Reilly. . . most of the year in the No. 88 and then when I’m not in it, I’ll be driving in for Jordan [Anderson].”

Caruth reinforced these plans via his X account when responding to a fan on Wednesday morning.

Prior to these comments on his live stream, Caruth claimed that he would drive JAR’s main part-time car, the No. 32.

JAR has entered the No. 32 in 21 of the season’s 32 races thus far with Jordan Anderson, Austin Green, Katherine Legge, and Caruth behind the wheel. In his two starts, Caruth finished 22nd at Dover and 29th at Daytona. The car has also had four DNFs between Green and Legge throughout its part-time effort this season.

The only questions left to answer are who will take over the No. 71 and who Caruth will share the JRM No. 88 with throughout the 2026 season.

One option often discussed by fans for the latter of the two is that Hendrick Motorsports drivers could pilot the No. 88 if HMS prospect Corey Day goes full-time in the No. 17, though neither team nor Day has confirmed these plans.
