What’s Happening?

Viking Motorsports has announced that 22-year-old NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series veteran Parker Retzlaff will pilot their No. 99 car during the 2026 season.

  • Retzlaff will replace Matt DiBenedetto as the full-time driver of the No. 99 and what will be Viking Motorsports’ second season in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. The team parted ways with DiBenedetto prior to the series playoff race at Talladega, bringing on Connor Mosack to round out the season.
  • There were very few rumors suggesting that Retzlaff could leave his spot at Alpha Prime Racing prior to co-owner Caesar Bacarella claiming that he expected Retzlaff to leave the team by the end of the season. Following this past weekend’s race at Phoenix Raceway, Retzlaff confirmed his departure from the team in a post on his social media.
  • This coming season will be the Wisconsin native’s fourth full-time season of O’Reilly Auto Parts Series competition. Although his counting stats dropped off in 2025 following his departure from Jordan Anderson Racing, Retzalff scored a better average finish of 22.7, compared to his 2024 effort.
  • Viking Motorsports made its debut this season with DiBenedetto starting 30 of the season’s 33 races. In these starts, the team achieved its best finish of fifth at Talladega, which marked their only top five and top ten of the season.
