What’s Happening?

On Wednesday, Front Row Motorsports announced their newest driver for 2025: Noah Gragson. Gragson signed a multi-year contract to drive a FRM car full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. This will be Gragson’s third Cup Series team in three seasons. He was let go before completing his first season at Legacy Motor Club in 2023, and his current team, Stewart-Haas Racing, will shut down after the season.

  • Noah Gragson has impressed in his first season at Stewart-Haas Racing. While he sits 23rd in points, he has six top-10 finishes, which is tied for the most of any current SHR driver. Before his forgettable rookie season at Legacy Motor Club, he won eight races in the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, narrowly missing out on the Championship to Ty Gibbs.
  • Front Row Motorsports is making some major changes for 2025. Now a “Tier One” Ford team, they announced their intentions in May to start a third team, presumably through buying a Stewart-Haas Racing charter. No announcement was made on who would drive the third car. They have also signed the current driver, Todd Gilliland, to a multi-year contract extension. The team’s longest-tenured driver, Michael McDowell, is moving on to Spire Motorsports in 2025.
  • Fans are happy to see Gragson landing on his feet at FRM. He is sticking with Ford at a “Tier One” team, and it’s somewhere he can stay for an extended period. Could this be the place where Gragson hits his stride?

Team owner Bob Jenkins had this to say about why he chose Gragson.

Noah’s a guy that’s been successful in every level of racing that he’s ever been in, and we’ve just watched him grow over the last couple of years in the Cup Series. We really just believe he’s just starting scratch the potential of what he can do.

This wouldn’t be possible withoug the support of Ford and Ford Performance, and the partnership they’ve given us. Without being a ‘Tier One’ Ford team, we would never ever think about signign a driver like Noah. We’re just so excited to see what we can do togeher with Ford Performance and Noah.

The other think that impressed me when we sat down, and met, and talked, was how much respect he has for the sport. He really understands it’s a fan driven sport, and he just relates so well with fans. He’s only been in the series a couple of years, but he’s already one of the most popular drivers. We really think that translates with our marketing partners for what we can do and achieve.

Bob Jenkins

Noah Gragson later gave his thoughts on why he chose FRM.

With Bob’s vision of wantng to become better and better each and every year, it seemed like the right place. He’s obviously very financially invested in the team, there’s a lot of great partners over there, and they want to grow, they want to build. With [Bob’s] investment into a third charter, he wants to expadn this thing…I’m excited to get to work next year.
