What’s Happening?

Alpha Prime Racing has announced that NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series veteran Brennan Poole will return to the team’s No. 44 for a third full-time season.

  • The 34-year-old is the first driver confirmed for APR’s 2026 lineup. Poole’s re-signing also quells speculation he could leave the team following past comments from APR co-owner Caesar Bacarella, who said on a podcast in October that he didn’t know what Poole’s 2026 plans were.
  • So far in his two years with the team, Poole has stood out among the rest of the team’s full-time efforts and is responsible for nearly half the team’s all-time top ten finishes and the majority of their top five finishes. Though he finished lower in points during his sophomore campaign at APR, Poole managed to improve on his average finish from the 2024 season.
  • Prior to his time with APR, Poole established himself as a fan favorite with teams such as JD Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing. Despite his best efforts, the veteran has yet to find victory lane, with his best effort so far being a second-place finish at Kentucky Motor Speedway in 2017.
  • With Poole’s signing, there is presumably one other spot left at APR. That car, the No. 4, was driven by Parker Retzlaff in 2025, though he has left the team to drive for Viking Motorsports in their No. 99 entry.
