What’s Happening?

Michael McDowell made a surprising announcement on Wednesday, saying he will move on from Front Row Motorsports at the end of the season. It was announced later that McDowell will join Spire Motorsports on a multi-year deal. Here is what McDowell had to say.

  • Michael McDowell joined Front Row Motorsports in 2018. Since then, he has won 2 races including the 2021 Daytona 500. He’s raced in NASCAR at least part-time every year since 2008 including 8 full-time seasons.
  • Front Row Motorsports has been in NASCAR since 2005, and they started competing full-time in 2009. Owner by Bob Jenkins, they have won 4 races and have ascended to being a Tier One Ford team.
  • Fans are surprised by this news. McDowell is a well-liked driver, and fans are used to seeing him with FRM. However, he will be moving on, and fans are excited about his next step.

FRM Official Statement

Front Row Motorsports owner, Bob Jenkins, gave an official statement on McDowell’s leaving. In it, Jenkins called McDowell “The leader of this team and the organization” and “The model for a driver we want to represent us and our partners”.

McDowell is moving on to something new in 2024. How will he do?
