Michael Andretti spoke to the media in St. Petersburg, Florida on Friday, and he dropped some hints about Andretti Autosport’s potential future in NASCAR. According to Jenna Fryer of the Associated Press, Andretti is working on a potential entry into NASCAR, likely through partnering with a current team.

  • Michael Andretti, Andretti Autosport, and the Andretti family have been flirting with NASCAR for about a year now. Marco Andretti made his first NASCAR starts in 2023, and he has expanded his 2024 schedule to include 14 ARCA starts and 7 Truck Series appearances. Andretti to NASCAR rumors first surfaced from an Adam Stern report in June of 2023.
  • Andretti already has some connections in NASCAR. One of their sponsors, Gainbridge, is now sponsoring Spire Motorsports. Due to both this and Marco’s Truck Series starting with the team in 2023, Spire may be the most likely team for Andretti to partner with.
  • Fans would be very excited to see Andretti come into the sport. That excitement reached a higher level in February when Andretti was denied entry into Formula One. With Formula One not an option, could they turn to NASCAR?
