- At just 20 years old, Pérez de Lara is quickly ascending the NASCAR ladder, having made his ARCA debut in 2022, Truck Series debut in 2024, and now his Xfinity Series debut in 2025. For the Mexico City native, this is perhaps the most fitting location for his debut, as it is the first Xfinity race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez since 2008.
- Prior to this announcement, there were rumors that Pérez de Lara could make his series debut in Mexico City. Now confirmed, Pérez de Lara will drive DGM Racing’s No. 91 car, which has been driven by a rotating door of drivers this season, including Josh Bilicki, Myatt Snider, and C.J. McLaughlin.
- Currently, Pérez de Lara races full-time for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. In his rookie season, Pérez de Lara sits third in Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year standings behind Connor Mosack and Giovanni Ruggiero.
- His debut will, of course, be full of fanfare for the hometown driver. However, he won’t be the only Mexican driver in the field. Earlier this week, Daniel Suárez, a native of Monterrey, Mexico, announced his entry into the race in JR Motorsports’ No. 9.
