What’s Happening?

Josh Reaume appeared to throw some shade at Carson Hocevar and/or Spire Motorsports on social media on Thursday. He reposted a picture Carson Hocevar posted with the caption “Respect” and a rolling eyes emoji. What was this all about?

• Josh Reaume made the comment in response to this post by Carson Hocevar. Hocevar posted a photo of two of his paint schemes for 2024 for Gainbridge and Zeigler.
• Reaume has criticized Hocevar-related events in the past. Most recently, he was very critical of the Truck Series season finale at Phoenix, in which a Carson Hocevar wrecked Championship rival, Corey Heim. Reaume co-owns Reaume Brothers Racing with his brother, Jonathan.
• Many fans knew immediately who Reaume was talking about, and a few loved the post. Others were uncertain about the context surrounding the post.

Reaume’s Recent Hocevar Comments

In November at Phoenix, Hocevar wrecked his rival for the Championship, Corey Heim. This set off a chain of events where the race devolved into chaos. Many in the industry criticized this race, and one of the most vocal critics was Josh Reaume.

Reaume never said anything directly at Hocevar, but he was very critical of the race itself. He did specifically bring up the word “Respect” when criticizing.

Reaume later said that he stopped watching the race. He said he was “Not proud to be an owner in this series tonight.”

Again, nothing was said directly to Hocevar, but, Hocevar was one of, if not the main players in the drama that happened. It’s safe to say that Reaume was probably not thrilled with Hocevar’s actions either.

Now that Hocevar is in the Cup Series, he and Reaume will not be interacting as much anymore. This likely has no impact on Hocevar’s season, but, it does show that Hocevar has at least one frosty relationship in the garage.
