It’s time to talk about NASCAR’s TV coverage..

NASCAR on Fox used to be the highlight of the NASCAR broadcast schedule, but the years have not been kind. Today, it’s rare that we go through a week without complaining about the Fox broadcast, and today, Elly Productions is here to take us through Fox’s downfall.

• NASCAR is one of the only sports that doesn’t have a home crowd; most of their fans throughout the season watch the race on TV until the one week where NASCAR is back in their hometown. This means that the broadcast for NASCAR is far more important than any other sport. Is there a way to make NASCAR less dependent on their broadcast quality?
• One of the things that fans dislike most about the Fox broadcast is the camera work. I’m sure most NASCAR fans would like a very wide camera where they can see a lot of the racing, especially the leaders, but Fox likes to use close and tight angles. Do you think the broadcast would improve if the camera style changed? 
• One of the greatest things about NASCAR is the bright colors of the race cars going unbelievable speeds around the race track. However, Fox has a gray hue on all its broadcasts, kind of like it’s using a filter. Do you think Fox making the car more bland is a good thing or a bad thing?
