What’s Happening?
With the 2026 NASCAR National Series racing season just around the corner, several drivers have yet to announce their plans for 2026. Here are the remaining drivers left on the 2026 NASCAR National Series free agent board.
2026 roster hub
- This list encompasses all three NASCAR National Series and will be updated as teams and drivers make announcements.
- The only drivers featured on this list will be those who raced full-time in one of the three NASCAR National Series in 2025, who are confirmed to be out of their former full-time ride for 2026, and who have yet to announce their plans for the coming year.
- Some drivers, for example, Corey Heim, may not necessarily be a traditional “free agent,” as he is signed with 23XI Racing, but are without a ride for the coming year (as of initial press time).
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series
Matt DiBenedetto
DiBenedetto is entering the offseason in familiar territory, just like his 2023 Craftsman Truck Series season with Rackley W.A.R., the veteran driver found himself out of a ride with three races left in the season.
In his 30 starts with Viking Motorsports, DiBenedetto scored just one top five, a fifth-place finish at Talladega, which was also his only top ten of the 2025 season. His spot at Viking has since been taken over by Parker Retzlaff, who left Alpha Prime Racing.
Effective Immediately: Matt DiBenedetto OUT of Full-Time Ride
What’s Happening? NASCAR veteran Matt DiBenedetto and Viking Motorsports have parted ways, effective immediately. Connor Mosack will finish out the season…
Nick Sanchez
Nick Sanchez was primed to be a driver to watch during the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season with Big Machine Racing. But in early December, Sanchez announced a sudden split from the team ahead of his sophomore season.
In 2025, the NASCAR Xfinity Series rookie was just one of three rookies in a highly accomplished class to win a race. Though he was inconsistent throughout his rookie year, the 25-year-old is still likely a hot name on the driver market for a team trying to find victory lane.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Jack Wood
After a difficult 2025 return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Wood lost his ride at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in a rather unceremonious way.
In the fallout of the closure of Kaulig Racing’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series team, Christian Eckes returned to the free agent market, with MHR stepping up to bring Eckes back to the team for 2026. Unfortunately for Wood, this would be in the No. 91, meaning that the 25-year-old is looking for a new spot for the 2026 season.

Connor Mosack
Shortly after MHR announced that Christian Eckes was taking over Jack Wood’s former ride, the team also announced a new driver for its No. 81, with Kris Wright set to take on driving duties in 2026.
Much like Wood, this announcement means that Connor Mosack is now looking for a new ride.
Last year marked Mosack’s fourth season of NASCAR National Series competition, but his first-ever full-time effort in a National Series. In his 25 races at MHR in 2025, Mosack scored four top-tens and finished no higher than sixth.
Kris Wright Returns to Full-Time NASCAR Racing
What’s Happening? Kris Wright will return to full-time action in 2026, racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Chevrolet’s McAnally–Hilgemann…
Corey Heim
No, Corey Heim is not on what you would consider a “traditional” free agent block, but he is without a ride with no plans announced for the coming season.
Though the 23-year-old has dominated the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, he has failed to find a full-time promotion, something that he is seemingly facing for 2026 as Kaden Honeycutt takes over TRICON Garage’s No. 11.
Some rumors suggest Heim may not compete for any championship in 2026 and will instead float across the three National Series.
