For the second season in a row, the Wurth 400 was moved to a Monday, but this year the viewership increased by over 100,000.

What’s Happening?

The TV ratings for Dover are in. Austin Konenski was the first to report that the ratings increased from 944,000 one year ago to 1.067 million this year. Both races were held on a Monday

  • This is the third week in a row that NASCAR has seen a ratings increase for a race verses one season ago. This is a good trend from the beginning of the season where the first eight races saw decreased ratings from a season ago.
  • Chase Elliot coming back combined with some decent races appears to have convinced some new fans to stick around for a few more weeks. It is also worth noting that NASCAR is no longer going head to head with March Madness either.
  • Fans were generally excited about this news on social media, and they were happy to see the at-track attendance on Monday as well. This increase in ratings continues to give NASCAR more leverage as negotiations for its’ next TV deal intensify.

Brayden was excited to see a large at-track crowd on Monday

How about that indeed!

Cracking 1 million on a weekday is an accomplishment.
