What’s Happening?
YouTube star turned racer Garrett Mitchell, better known by his username Cleetus McFarland, is scheduled to test a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series truck next week with hopes of making his NASCAR National Series debut in the near future.

Mitchell, who announced these plans in a post to his Instagram, will test Niece Motorsports’ No. 4, with approval. This test will hopefully add him to the team’s stacked lineup of part-time drivers for the season.

A start in the Truck Series would mark a major turning point in Mitchell’s goal of racing in the Daytona 500 one day, serving as his debut in one of NASCAR’s top three, or national, series.
The 30-year-old made his ARCA debut last year at Daytona, garnering headlines and clicks for the race despite a 30th-place finish.
Mitchell, an automotive YouTuber, made the jump to NASCAR with the help of late NASCAR legend Greg Biffle, who, prior to his passing, was a close friend of Mitchell’s.
This has been a tough offseason for Mitchell, as Biffle passed away in a December 18 plane crash in North Carolina.
The plane, carrying Biffle, his wife, and two children, alongside three others, was heading to visit Mitchell in Florida to film a new YouTube video.
Since Biffle’s passing, Mitchell has continued to support Biffle, sporting ‘Be Like Biff’ on his car at the ARCA preseason test, and continuing their goal of making the Daytona 500 in the coming years.
In a video recorded after ARCA preseason testing, Mitchell teased that a major announcement would add to his schedule for 2026, which already included four ARCA Menards Series starts. Mitchell is guaranteed to make his season debut in the ARCA Menards Series race at Daytona on February 14.
