- Tuesday, Lionel released the first render for Christopher Bell’s 2026 No. 20 DeWalt Toyota Camry. While this was not the first diecast revealed for 2026, this one did feature a notable change to NASCAR’s name banners, raising questions amongst the fanbase.
- These banners, on the front and rear windshields, feature the driver’s last name, and, since 2013, the front windshield has exclusively featured the badges for OEMs. Per these diecast renders, it appeared that NASCAR was removing the driver’s last name from the rear banner and replacing it with OEM branding.
- Now, Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports has confirmed that NASCAR is going to make this switch for the coming season. Though it is still unclear if the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck Series, which have similar banners with minor differences from the Cup Series, will make this change as well.
- While this is a minor change and will have no effect on the racing action, it is another noteworthy change to the banners, which were introduced at the Cup level in 2013. Since then, they have seen notable changes in 2017, 2020, 2021, 2022, and now, 2026.
