What’s Happening?

A new post on Budweiser’s social media has race fans suspicious of another big partnership with NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.

  • On Thursday, Budweiser posted this ominous video on social media with the caption 8.2.25 and the tagline “Bristol Bud Crew.” While this is ominous, it appears it will likely involve Bristol Motor Speedway and MLB’s upcoming Speedway Classic baseball game on Aug. 2.
  • The Speedway Classic is the first-ever MLB game to take place at BMS. Earnhardt and Budweiser are already collaborating with MLB for the event with a special throwback paint scheme for the Aug. 16 zMAX CARS Tour race at Anderson Motor Speedway.
  • This paint scheme is a throwback to Earnhardt’s ‘Baseball Car,’ the car sponsored by Budweiser and the 2001 MLB All-Star Game that he piloted to a win in the 2001 Pepsi 400. This car was the second paint scheme revealed as part of the sponsor and drivers’ reunion.
  • The two announced a reunion on Oct. 22, with JRM posting a new Bud 8 paint scheme that Earnhardt piloted at Florence Motor Speedway in November. This announcement also harkened the return of the ‘Stylized’ or DEI No. 8, following Earnhardt’s acquisition of his longtime number font.
